Evolution of Big Data Research in different Disciplines: A Scientometric Study

Abstract: Big Data has become one of the most powerful research areas of the twenty-first century, revolutionising scientific research, decision-making and innovation in many academic environments. The explosion of data-intensive technologies has resulted in a sharp increase in scholarly publications in fields like computer science, health care, engineering, business, social sciences, environmental studies, education, and library and information science. This study offers a scientometric review of the evolution of Big Data research, synthesising the existing scholarly literature and examining the intellectual development of the field across disciplines.
