Green Library Initiative & Sustainable Development by Birchandra State Central Library in Tripura: A Case Study

Abstract - The green library, also known as a sustainable library, is a relatively new concept that has gained popularity among library professionals. The Birchandra State Central Library in Agartala, Tripura, is actively involved in green library initiatives and sustainable development, contributing to both the library's operations and the broader community. The paper's major aim highlights the conditions of the environment, their impacts on society and efforts of leading organizations towards an eco-friendly earth, developed standards for the progress of society. The efforts of the library align with national and regional goals, particularly those focused on environmental sustainability and smart city initiatives.
